Celebrating 70 Years!

Admiral Metals has reached yet another milestone. We are 70 years and growing! Admiral metals would not be able to achieve this milestone without our hardworking, dedicated employees or motivated customers. We want to thank you for making this achievement possible.

Admiral was founded in 1950 by the Burstein family and built on the foundation that our customers, too, are our family. We strive daily to provide the highest quality products and the best customer experience possible to each and every one of you. That philosophy has been the cornerstone of the way in which Admiral Metals has operated for 70 years and it is the driving force that will lead us into the future.

Our Story:

Admiral Metals was founded by the Burstein family in 1950 led by Mac Burstein. Fresh out of the Navy, he joined his older brothers who had owned a successful scrap metal company, M. Burstein & Co. Admiral Metals was a natural outgrowth, originally built on the solid relationships the Burstein family had established with area mills and longstanding customers. Over time, Admiral expanded its product lines, service offerings, geographic coverage, and the markets we serve. But what has remained constant over 70 years is the company’s focus on its customers, employees, and mill relationships.

Our Future:

Admiral Metals is still a family-owned private company with Mac’s son, Jim Burstein, being the current President. Since he started, Jim had an eye on the future, introducing innovations that have positioned Admiral as a best-in-class service center. For over 70 years, Admiral has grown its footprint to meet the demand for its products, adding additional locations; the most recent in Largo, Florida in 2018. The company has added multiple product lines, additional trucks to the fleet, employees to its roster, and countless new pieces of equipment.

As we look back on 70 years, we would like to take this moment to thank each and every one of our customers and employees for helping us reach this milestone. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for us and for you!
